Best ETF Screeners in 2026 compares ETF Database, etf.com ETF Screener, Morningstar Investor, justETF and Trackinsight for finding and comparing exchange-traded funds. The right purchase depends first on your investable universe: US-listed funds, European UCITS funds or a cross-border research database. A large result count is not useful if it includes products unavailable in your country, duplicate listings or instruments outside your mandate.
Start with the questions a screener must answer. Can you filter by exposure, expense ratio, fund size and distribution policy? Can you inspect holdings and distinguish concentrated exposure from a genuinely different basket? Does the comparison show liquidity information with a usable definition and date? These checks matter more than a dashboard's appearance or the number of preset investment themes.
Costs also need two separate columns in your notes: the software subscription and the fund's ongoing expenses. Neither a free screener nor a low expense ratio establishes the total cost of owning an ETF. Spreads, commissions, currency conversion and applicable taxes sit outside a simple fee filter. Historical returns are not a substitute for examining structure, benchmark, holdings and trading conditions.
Keep this decision separate from adjacent software. Our fundamental stock research comparison concerns company analysis; our stock portfolio tracker guide concerns positions you already hold. This guide evaluates screening, comparison, research depth and documented export access, not portfolio management, brokerage execution or intraday stock scanning.
Below, “best for” means documented workflow fit, not a recommendation to buy any fund. We reviewed official pages rather than purchasing subscriptions or performing hands-on tests. Before committing to an annual plan, reproduce one realistic search, inspect its underlying data dates and establish whether the export you need actually belongs to the offered account. Public pages cannot settle every country restriction or institutional data license.
Best for: US-listed ETF filtering. Its basic screener is free, while the results identify CSV export as an ETF Database Pro feature.
Best for: Browser-based US ETF discovery and comparison. Official documentation describes filters for the US ETF universe and links to fund comparison tools.
Best for: ETF screening alongside a broader research subscription. Its product page documents customizable screening and comparisons of up to five securities.
Best for: European UCITS-oriented searches. Its finder accounts for country marketing authorization and investor type, with TER, distribution and replication details.
Best for: Global screening with an institutional upgrade path. The public screener covers worldwide ETPs; Enterprise documents holdings-based screening and liquidity analysis.
Author: TradingBotExperts Editorial Team. Last updated: October 21, 2026. We reviewed official product, screener, subscription and help pages for regional coverage, exposure filters, expenses, holdings visibility, liquidity information, comparisons, exports and purchase terms. These are editorial workflow assessments, not measured accuracy or performance rankings.
We used extracted official-page content and separate direct HTTP checks. Some etf.com, Trackinsight and Morningstar help requests returned HTTP 403 even though their official content was extractable. That supports qualified descriptions, not a claim that we operated those tools. ETF Database's subscription price and etf.com's export entitlement remain unverified; no numerical price is invented. No provider-wide data-refresh guarantee was established.
Keyboard and touch instructions for the comparison table
Use Tab to focus the comparison region, then use Left/Right arrows to scroll or Home/End to reach either edge. On a touch screen, swipe horizontally within the table.

Best for: Readers building a US-listed ETF shortlist using a broad set of recognizable fund characteristics rather than a broker's available-products list.
Features: The official ETF Database screener offers asset-class and exposure filters, expense ratio, average daily volume, inception date and number of holdings. Results include separate expense and holdings views, with concentration fields such as the proportion in the top ten holdings. Links to fact sheets, issuer holdings and head-to-head research help move from a filtered list to underlying evidence.
Limits: US listing is not the same as US exposure: a US-listed fund can invest overseas. Do not treat geographic exposure categories as proof of European purchase eligibility. Average share volume is a starting liquidity signal, not a complete spread or underlying-market analysis. Some filters invite free registration; the page labels CSV export as Pro. We did not verify download quotas, full holdings history or institutional reuse rights.
Pricing: The page explicitly labels its basic screener free. Its official Pro signup page was extractable but returned HTTP 403 directly and did not establish a numerical paid rate. Verify current terms for subscription charges, trial conversion, renewal, cancellation and taxes before entering payment details; “free trial” is not a verified ongoing price.
Choose if: You need expense, concentration and volume filters for US-listed research. Avoid buying Pro solely for exports until support confirms the exact fields, row limits and license. A downloadable shortlist is useful only if its identifiers and dates survive the move into your spreadsheet.
Best for: Readers who want US ETF discovery and a straightforward route from screening to side-by-side fund research.
Features: The official etf.com screener documentation describes filtering the US ETF universe by attributes including asset class, geographic focus, expense ratio and performance. Its extracted interface includes fund-flow, analysis and fundamentals views, plus compare, save and export controls. The linked ETF comparison tool supports the next stage of comparing candidates rather than simply sorting a results column.
Limits: Visible controls do not establish free access or successful downloads. We did not confirm export permissions, account requirements, row limits or saved-screen capacity. Direct requests were blocked with HTTP 403; extracted official content and search results support the described workflow, not a hands-on usability verdict. Marketing copy and live result counts differed, so we do not use an exact universe count as a purchasing criterion.
Pricing: A public screener page is available through extraction, but the reviewed documentation did not establish a dependable current numerical subscription price or complete free-versus-paid entitlement matrix. Verify current terms for the account offer and export access directly. Do not interpret the lack of a displayed price as unlimited free professional use.
Choose if: US-listed filtering and comparison are the main job. Avoid depending on an unverified export button for a recurring reporting process. Check whether holdings detail and liquidity fields answer your actual research questions before making this your only source.
Best for: Readers who want ETF screening inside a research subscription, especially when contextual analysis matters more than obtaining the cheapest results table.
Features: The official Investor screener page describes screening thousands of securities and indexes, including global investments, and comparing up to five securities. Its official screener help index documents creating screens, custom views and editing data columns. This supports a configurable research workflow; it does not establish that every global ETF listing or field is available in every country edition.
Limits: Investor is broader than a dedicated ETF screener, so part of the subscription may be irrelevant to an ETF-only buyer. We did not establish screener CSV permissions, holdings-history depth or a full liquidity-filter matrix. Confirm that ETF expenses and holdings fields required for your work are included, rather than assuming that a general research subscription provides institutional data access.
Pricing: The reviewed US product page displays $249 yearly or $34.95 monthly. The annual plan's $20.75 monthly equivalent requires the yearly purchase; it is not a month-to-month rate. A free trial is advertised, but its duration, conversion conditions, renewal rate, tax treatment and regional eligibility should be checked at signup.
Choose if: You will use the surrounding research enough to justify the subscription. Avoid paying annually just to replace a basic expense-ratio filter. Compare its actual ETF fields with your requirements, not with the breadth of its stock research. Our technical analysis software guide covers chart-focused tools, a separate purchase from fund screening.
Best for: European UCITS-oriented screening where investor country, share-class structure and distribution policy matter.
Features: The current justETF finder displays fund size, annual TER, distribution, replication and ISIN. Its explanation says results reflect marketing authorization in the selected country and investor type. Those settings help narrow an investable regional universe. Use the ISIN when comparing share classes; ticker symbols and trading currencies alone can obscure whether two listings represent the same instrument.
Limits: A European selection tool is not a complete substitute for US-listed screening. Country authorization also does not guarantee access through your broker or determine your tax treatment. The reviewed subscription page lists Excel export for portfolio data, not a verified unlimited screener-results export. Check separate fund profiles and issuer documents for holdings dates; the finder is not a live spread-monitoring service.
Pricing: The official offer page lists a free tier. Premium 5 is €9.90 per month billed annually, equivalent to €118.80 for twelve months, or €14.90 per month billed quarterly, equivalent to €44.70 per quarter. Applicable VAT is included. The selected term is a minimum commitment; membership continues indefinitely unless canceled, with one month's notice after that minimum term. Verify your country-specific checkout.
Choose if: UCITS-focused research and country-aware discovery are central. Avoid upgrading merely because an export feature appears in the paid plan: the documented export concerns portfolio data. For screening alone, establish what the free finder already supplies before purchasing features outside this guide's scope.
Best for: Cross-border ETF discovery and professional teams needing deeper holdings or liquidity analysis than a public list provides.
Features: The official Trackinsight screener describes more than 15,000 worldwide ETPs and filters including geography, sector, replication, dividend policy and listing venue. ETP is broader than ETF, so inspect product type. The separate Enterprise product page documents holdings-based screening, liquidity analysis, side-by-side comparisons and custom-report export.
Limits: The public page invites free registration and displays export-related guidance, but we did not confirm free export capacity, file fields or bulk-data rights. Advanced Enterprise features must not be attributed to every free account. Global database coverage does not mean a fund is authorized for every reader. Direct HTTP requests returned 403 despite successful extraction of official product content.
Pricing: Free registration is advertised. Enterprise uses a contact/demo route; the reviewed page did not publish a verified numerical subscription rate. Verify current terms and ask for a quote covering seats, permitted exports, reporting, history, regional coverage and data licensing. Do not assume an Enterprise report export grants an API or redistribution license.
Choose if: Global universe comparison or institutional data depth justifies evaluating a professional service. Avoid treating the public screener as evidence that holdings-based filters or advanced liquidity metrics are included free. For machine-readable research workflows, our market-data API comparison explains the separate access and licensing questions.
Budget and beginners — choose a free search matching your region, then learn expense, size, structure and holdings fields before upgrading. Avoid paying for a long feature list without identifying one essential paid capability. Software expense and fund expense are separate budget decisions.
US-listed funds — choose ETF Database or etf.com for an initial shortlist. Avoid confusing an overseas exposure filter with a non-US listing universe. European UCITS — choose justETF when country and investor-type settings drive discovery; avoid assuming authorization equals brokerage availability.
Institutional exports — choose only after receiving explicit field, volume and usage terms. Trackinsight Enterprise documents deeper analysis; ETF Database labels CSV as Pro. Avoid inferring that either permits bulk redistribution. Data depth — choose using a sample comparison that checks holdings coverage, dates and liquidity definitions, not just the number of displayed metrics.
A screener produces research candidates, not execution instructions. If a separate system will consume that shortlist, follow a pre-live testing process for that system independently; a downloaded table does not validate order handling or suitability.
Educational software comparison, not investment advice or a recommendation to buy any ETF. No hands-on tests, performance results or return guarantees are claimed. Verify current pricing, data rights and regional eligibility directly before purchase.
